Fresh produce straight from farmers markets are beautiful. They don’t need much. It is basically pressing the shutter. In this case, the red and green complement each other very well. It just make the picture colorful and balanced.

This photo comes from a shooting carried out for a parisian restaurant that wants to highlight a product of their suppliers, to use it on social networks. The shooting took place outside. To be consumed in moderation.

I love dark chocolate. I wanted to approach the minimalist style to bring the viewer's focus to the subject, nothing else. I used mostly natural light from the left and added a slight fill light for the face of the chocolate to show off the texture. I intentionally left a bit of chocolate on the negative space. Don't you thin, it gives you a space to think deeper about the chocolate? It's a little bit of Wabi-Sabi. Ha, I'm always a Japanese even living in the US for 25 years. Thank you, Foodelia for another award.

I prepared very thin pancakes and stuffed them with yogurt and sliced strawberries. Next, the syrup was poured over them to make them even sweeter.

The backlight is a serious deal.
I helped my self with a model light with a snoot and I finally got a shot that made me happy. A delicious rosewater gin tonic garnished with strawberries and red berries, this made my day a happy day.

Strawberry season! I love to visit local farmers to get a couple of buckets with these tasty red pearls. Sweet and soft, applicable in cakes like the one on the picture. You can almost taste the freshness just by looking at this photo!

Blackberries contain a wide array of important nutrients such as potassium, magnesium, and calcium, as well as vitamins A, C, E, and B vitamins. They are also a rich source of anthocyanins, powerful antioxidants that give blackberries their deep purple color.

I re-created a still-life painting by artist Javier Mulio for a drinks photography challenge. It was both fun and challenging trying to recreate the mood and lighting. A nice surprise was capturing the tiny droplet suspended in mid-air. A case of art imitating life imitating art!

I had some gorgeous artisan raspberry jam leftover from a shoot for a local business. I had this image in my head but had never made peanut butter bars before. To my astonishment they didn't fall apart upon cutting them (tip - use a really hot knife and slice from chilled). I used natural light for this shot, something I'm not overly comfortable with. I'm a control freak and prefer strobes. I love how the light catches the jam and the simplicity of the colour palette. They were a delight to eat afterward too.

Handcrafted in the Mary Valley @maryvalleyfoodco pick fruit from small scale farmers and dries them. I use their dried fruits in a lot of my propping but today their lemon took centre stage as it’s just too beautiful on it’s own not to zoom into.

Asparagus risotto, simplicity of flavors, nothing better than paring with Lugana wine. Every time I visit Garda Lake in Italy I stop in a tiny restaurant of traditional cuisine from the lake, with amazing people they do everything from scratch.

I created this image for a silver color collaboration I participated in on Instagram. I thought it would be a super simple shot, as the composition is minimal. However, it turns out that straight-edged bottles are extremely hard to photograph. It took a lot of manipulation and a lot of readjustment of lights to get the bottle lit properly.

This was a dish made by the chef of Klein Zwitserland. I often go to them and bring my stuff. This dish was a dessert with mandarin, pumpkin and crumbs.

This photo was made in a food styling workshop by Marcela Lovegrove. The students set up the salad and I was the photographer in charge.

I used this ingredients for ice pops. I brought everything to the table and they looked so beautiful together. Again, purple and yellow are colors that do well together. I just was there and took the picture of something that is naturally beautiful. I love the tiny shiny specular light in the blackberries.

This photo was taken in the very famous vegetarian Restaurant in Vienna called TIAN. Its Chef de Cuisine, Paul Ivić is very famous in the Austrian vegetarian and vegan scene. Actually, we shot all the dishes from above. This dish fascinated me in its simplicity and at the same time in the exciting arrangement of the ingredients when seen from the frontal perspective.

Multiple scanned data combined with camera data of a Honeycomb. I wanted to approach this subject matter from a unique perspective and produce an image that would emphasise the incredible structure.

One of my personal favorites, Indian Masala Tea. Combined with the nation's most lovely Parle-G biscuits will definitely make your day a better one!

No one can resist the temptation of freshly fried fritters! These Banana fritters are well-known batter and snacks which is best enjoyed and paired after meals. They call it Flying Banana fritters.

Pavlova with a Middle Eastern touch..! The cream is totally vegan flavored with fresh dates. As fruits, I chose blackberries and citrus fruits to balance the sweetness of the meringue, which also has a pinch of cocoa powder to give it a slightly beige color.

Nothing like a touch of Sunday brunch to get you through the weekend. Warm croissants, butter, honey, and a good mug of coffee to wash it down.

This photo was an experiment with composition and lighting. The aim was to photograph raw fish on ice, but in a more artistic kind of way than how you see them at the market. Schools of fish swimming in unison are so fascinating, so here is my take on a school of fish diving down into the ocean, away from the light.
