I wanted to do something a little festive for the holidays so I chose this Belgian Waffle, strawberry and raspberry composition on a brown background. Shot with a Nikon z7ii, 24-120 lens at 40 mm, f/6.3, ss 125. Profoto B10+ artificial light. Edited in Lightroom. After the shoot, all I had to do was serve and eat it!

99th Collection

One tradition passed down through my family is to make pears poached in Riesling, lemon, sugar and vanilla for the holidays. This image was shot on a Nikon z7ii at 125s, 48mm, f/7.1 using artificial light.

98th Collection

I'm working on a shooting a variety of cakes for a manufacturer of gourmet cakes. I wanted a dark and moody shot for this chocolate cake so I choose a dark green background with the complimentary red raspberries for the topping. Shot on a Nikon z7ii with a 70-120mm lens and Profoto lighting.

88th Collection

I wanted to create a monochromatic image for a grapefruit cocktail I'm fond of. So I went with these wonderful shapes from @ericksonsurfaces, some fresh grapefruit slices and my cocktail, of course. Shot on a Nikon z7ii with Profoto B2 lighting.

88th Collection

There really is nothing better than blueberry lemon pound cake for a sweet treat.

Shot with a Nikon D850, 105mm lens and a Profoto B-1 with white umbrella.

My favorite food to use strawberry salsa with is fish - especially swordfish. It imparts such a tangy taste to an already strong flavor.

Shot on a Nikon z7ii, 24-120mm lens at 35 mm, ISO 100, f/5.6, 125 SS, Profoto B10 plus on 7.1 power with a white bounce card opposite the strobe.

82nd Collection

Pizza is definitely one of my favorite foods. This pizza includes blue cheese and radicchio atop an Alfredo sauce with a balsamic vinegar glaze. The color of the radicchio visually brings out the best of this pizza. Anyone care for a slice?

Shot with the Nikon D850 and 24-70 mm lens. Indirect lighting with a Profoto B-1 pointed into a 36 inch white parabolic umbrella.

80th Collection

Mussels steamed in a white wine, olive oil and parsley broth. Crusty bread added to sop up all that goodness.

Shot on a Nikon D850 with a 24-70 lens. Profoto B1 artificial light at 7.1 with a rectangular soft box.

79th Collection

Ripe green tomatoes can be as sweet and juicy as their red counterparts. Paired with salt, burrata and fresh basil to complete the green vibe.

Shot on a Nikon D810 with a 24-70 lens, Profoto B1 at a 7.1 setting and rectangular soft box positioned at the 1:00 postion.

79th Collection

Nothing better than a ripe tomato salad with plenty of fresh basil, burrata and Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese. Crusty bread to sop up the olive oil goodness completes this healthy dish.

Shot with Nikon D850 on a 24-70mm lens and Profoto B10 artificial light with rectangular softbox. Light positioned at the 11:00 position - my favorite.

Black sea bass is alleged to be the tastiest fish in the ocean. The flavor is fresh and light, receptive to almost any combination of flavors and techniques. In the pre-preparation I used parsley and lemon. Shot with a Nikon D-810 and a Profoto B-1 side lighting.

77th Collection

There is nothing better this time of year than a fresh tomato galette. This galette was made with fresh tomatoes, fresh ricotta, egg and parmesan cheese (as the base) and then topped with burrata, pepper and fresh basil. Egg wash was added to the crust for the golden look. Shot on a Nikon D-850 and a Profoto B10+.

I'm not the best baker in the world. I once had an apple pie explode in the oven! Must have been that dynamite I put in the filling.

Nor are my pies very artistic looking. In fact they are far, far from beautiful. Quite ugly, actually.

But I think baking is just as much about creating original and delicious deserts as it is about beautiful creations. And so this rosewater syrup, plum and blackberry tart with a rose petal granola topping found itself being baked in my kitchen. Quite delicious actually.

Shot with a Nikon D-850 and a Profoto B10+.

I wanted to showcase a very simple charcuterie that featured only two different Italian cured meats, crackers, olives and some homemade mustard. Shot with a Nikon D850 and a Profoto B10.

76th Collection

Ruby red grapefruit pairs nicely with sprigs of rosemary and adds a tart citrusy flavor to a pair of branzino. Shot with a Nikon D850 and Profoto B1.

76th Collection

There is nothing quite as exquisitely delicious as bruschetta made with whole roasted tomatoes, burrata and a healthy dose of olive oil. I wanted to capture this scene on a light but very aged background to simulate this Italian appetizer being served outdoors.

"Why am I being singled out?" asked the quail egg. "No, no" I explained. You are just the best of the best. Shot with a Nikon D850 using a Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8 lens at 60mm (f/7.1, 1/200, ISO 100). Profoto B10 Plus mounted in a 2X3 softbox.

I had just purchased a dozen clams and decided to make a chili corn chowder. Because the clams were not going into the chowder directly I added clam juice to the broth. Corn, littleneck clams and chili peppers completed the recipe. Shot overhead with a Nikon D850, 24-70 lens at 60mm, f/7.1, and one Profoto B1 mounted in a 1X3 strip softbox.

Oysters are one of my favorite subjects to photograph - with all their texture they are so photogenic. I wanted to create a monochromatic color scheme and displayed these oysters in an antique silver platter that complemented the grey color of the oysters. I chose a dark grey background and used antique seafood forks to carry through on the color scheme. A touch of color was added by the lemons to break up the monochromatic color scheme.

73rd Collection

I wanted to display this cocktail and the Bushmills in a unique way. I selected a grey textured background and used black geometric shapes to give the image dimension without distracting from the cocktail. I also focused the light on the upper portion of the drink and the Bushmills label to draw the focus to the cocktail and to recess the geometric shapes into the background.
