Hi! I’m Chava, an Oakland-based Photographer and Creative Director whose love for photography, food, and even the packaging it comes in, has transformed into my life's passion.

Created in collaboration with prop stylist Victoria Dailey, for Tangerine Studio in Oakland. Playing with harmonizing colors to highlight the studio's new surfaces. The buttery yellow color inspired this bread still life.

I love sneakers, food, and cocktails. In this personal project, I want to share three scenes where all three items could appear together in after-parties. Each scene has a very distinctive mood to match the sneaker: in this case, a suggestive crimson-themed party.

Sneakers, cocktails and food. 👟🍸🍧 Some of my favorites intertwined in this Alice in Wonderland-inspired after-party scene.

This idea came together while working with such an amazing crew.

Almost everyone is gone, but the event is far from over. Glasses are half-empty, appetizers are scattered and random objects seem to take a life of their own. Let’s kick our feet up because the night is not over yet.

I love sneakers, food, and cocktails. In this personal project, I want to share three scenes where all three items could appear together in after-parties. Each scene has a very distinctive mood to match the sneaker: in this case, a lavish game night.

Taking a break from work and experiencing new locations, food, and drinks always re-energize me.
During my last holiday, I got to learn about and appreciate whisky.

Visiting a distillery gave me the opportunity to taste and compare the distinct grains used in crafting this golden spirit. Each sip told a story, enhanced by the aging process and the barrels that nurtured the whisky.

Returning home, I had an idea for a test shoot using a whisky bottle I brought back. I paired the timeless elegance of a classic Waterford crystal glass with bold colors and dramatic lighting.

When VegNews reached out with an editorial project for the Best of Vegan issue, I was thrilled.
The task was to create four images, they were looking for bold, clean, and colorful.
Each image would be a hero on its own to showcase the idea of an awarded item.
This image, the vegan chicken sandwich, was also selected for the cover of the magazine.

This image is for the Oat Milk and Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups.

Sparkle and Dazzle! New work done for Peet’s Coffee. The fun part of shooting a brand-new drink is figuring out how it should look at the end.

On the day of the shoot, I worked closely with their development team and creative director. The goal was to capture layers of sparkle, flavor cues, and swirling coffee, and to top it off with a creamy cold foam.

I love the result, and these Sparkling Cold Brew drinks are as delicious as they look.

“Lead with what you love,” is something I tell myself when doing creative work. If I don’t absolutely love it, it will show in the result.

Testing ideas opens doors to collaborating with new creatives and wonderful people who share the same passion and love for creating images that tell new stories. And the ice cream sandwich fantasy was born.

Mariana Swedelson was the food stylist who helped create the ice cream fantasy.

Personal Work. Among the classical desserts found in homes across Mexico, Arroz con Leche holds a special place in the hearts of all. This humble and delicious treat can be served either cold or warm and was inherited from Spain to Mexico. You will discover various versions, all equally tasty.
