Using more bold colors in my recent photography work has been such an exciting avenue to explore. Colors connect to our emotions and mood and can totally change the way a dish feels and even tastes. For this shot, I decided to shoot one of my favorite recipes, Socca, on this beautiful green background. I wanted to showcase the freshness of the herbs and vibrancy of the cherry tomatoes against a surface that makes you feel like you are in a French villa in the countryside.

This shot was taken while on our honeymoon in Italy. We had the most beautiful soft light at our bed and breakfast in Tuscany and I knew I had to shoot this delicious berry crostata that was gifted to us by our hosts. Shooting food while traveling was an exciting and new experience. I didn't have the control of own props and studio space. I had to look for the opportunities to get the shot instead of create them myself.
