Food photographers in Netherlands

Ever since I was 15 years old, I've been working in kitchens and with that my passion for photography slowly emerged. Looking back, my last trip around the world has been a big game changer for my love of photography. Now being back in the Netherlands, I started to photograph the food I was making at my job in the kitchen. That's when my love for food photography was born. With every photoshoot it's my goal to generate lots of emotions when looking at the photo. Cause let's be honest, who doesn't like the look of food from up close.

I am a food photographer and stylist in the Netherlands. During my education as a professional photographer, I discovered the beauty of the emergence of vegetables and fruits from seed. It's a symbolic reflection of the creative process that I embrace. Inspired by the light of the old masters such as Caravaggio and Rembrandt, I have directed my lens towards the simplicity and purity of products.

Jem is a food photographer and food stylist based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, but available worldwide. She specializes in helping health, environmental, and social-centric food & beverage brands boost sales through scroll-stopping photos. She also works with homemade food and drinks, creating delicious photos that highlight the YUM factor of the food, styled in a way that makes readers instantly crave the recipes.

Breathe life into the project; not only capture the idea. From a young age I've been intrigued by food. Sowing the seeds to the harvest in the green garden at my grandmothers farm. The goal of my photography is to give the viewer insight into the journey that takes place before the food reaches the plate. Food isn’t just about the final dish – it’s about the journey. Or capture different food processes, like cheesemakers of vegetable growing, showing the journey from "field to table".

I work as a food photographer & product photographer based in the Netherlands. I love to put a good amount of colour in my images and love to play around with artificial lights. I inherited the love for photography from my dad. My food photography journey started out as a fun project somewhere early 2000's on an iPhone and I gradually made my way to professional gear. Since 2017 I work as a professional photographer. Nowadays I love to play with lights and create interesting shadows. I am always on the lookout for different angles and love having playtime while using smoke or splashes. They give my images an instant need to watch. These could be delicious dishes, cocktails that pop off the screen, or food-related products.

The 3 lighting rule refers to the use of three lights (key, fill, backlight) to create depth and balance. Capturing the beauty and emotion of food and its impact on humanity. The story behind it, the beauty of creation and the explosion of flavor. The stories around the dinner table, the volumes that unite. Writing a new chapter, a summary, or simply the story of life. Food tells, translates, and writes love in its purest form.
