Enhancing the colours of the mushroom and duck breast with the dark plate and the dark handmade background. The chef's plating @jordanstaniford with the ochre tones of the dressing brings an artful display to the food. Restaurant photoshoot on location @crystalbrookbyron
Studio photography with food stylist @janetmitchellstylist working on beer. Being creative with one @bowens light in a way it illuminates the food and highlights the beer in the glass. Ask me how ???
Photographed with Canon @canonaustralia
Loving the golden toned calamari which certainly was a treat to eat afterwards, along with the cool crips beer.
Perfectly planned the shoot on a Friday, so drinks allowed.
Affogato photographed in studio for @windingroaddistillingco The 50 mile coffee liqueur and the coastal cane pure single rum combined with espresso coffee and vanilla ice-cream. Hot and cold ingredients mixed means being fast in taking the image.
Studio photography with softbox and spotlight to create soft shadows. A blood orange and turmeric, cardamon cocktail created with botanical shrubs, photographed for @pyewacketstraditional
Late afternoon sunlight at the end of a full day shoot, the light was at the right angle to enhance the long stems of the glasses, the ice-cubes melting quickly in the afternoon sun. Playing with shadows has had my interest for a long time a technique I firstly worked with predominantly in the studio with full control but in the end is all about seeing the possibilities of light and how to work with sunlight.
Studio photography test shot the day before a full day food and beer photo shoot with chef and stylist. I wanted to get the colour of the beer right and happened to have a bottle of Great Northern, a local beer in the fridge. Then enhanced the golden beer tones with the orange backlight.
Showcasing the new Wildberry granola for our local muesli producer @_brookfarm_ in it's a most simple form, just on a spoon, highlighting the rich Australian grown grains and nuts
Innovative use of Australian native rainforest fruit; the Davidson plum, an anti-oxidant powerhouse with more vitamin C than an orange.
Photographed in the studio with the use of one softbox.
