The picture presents a red currant pie with chocolate, something that makes me feel a little bit better while thinking about those long cold evenings... And it is also my favourite way of using enamel mugs!
Sweet potato and pumkin soup, decorated with sunflower seeds and fresh mint - the idea behind the picture was to present food in a natural way.
Sometimes the simplest things are the best things at the same time, so we shouldn't always go for everything fancy and complicated... The idea was to show beauty in simplicity.

For me, a burger is all about comfort...<br /> There's something awesome about how it stands right up alongside hop flavors, which add all the bitterness you need to balance out all of that umami.<br /> <br /> Just imagine... Delicious carbonized edges of the burger, fresh tomatoes, some seeds, rich sauces and light-bodied beer, like my favourite Cechowe, to refresh - to me it's perfectly clear you will not find a better match. <br /> <br /> And, luckily, you'll be able to get this awasome burger recipe soon, as the picture was a part a cookbook photoshoot.

Celebrating the spirit and colors of the fall season, roasted veggies of brussels sprouts and sweet pumpkins fragrantly flavored with garam masala spice, honey and dijon mustard and then tossed with wild rice and sprinkles of bacon bits. A dressing of creme fraiche whisked with lemon juice is a must on top!
A stack of fluffy banana bread pancakes with morsels of mini chocolate chips mixed in is a favorite weekend breakfast choice in the house. Top these pancakes off with slices of bananas, honey roasted pecans and lots...lots of Nutella sauce drizzles. I shot this image to showcase the delicious texture and the taste of each element of this morning ensemble.
A super healthy tuna poke bowl with chunks of fresh yellow tail tuna, seaweed and pickled cucumbers on top of a bed of steamed riced cauliflower. The finishing touch is the avocado rose, fish roe and spicy mayonnaise and sesame seeds to complement the main ingredients with a contrast of colors and flavors.
Dreamy pull apart cinnamon pecan rolls take the center stage in this picture. I just love the scrumptious texture of the pillowy dough and the mouthwatering butter-sour cream vanilla icing that graces on top of each of these bundles of joy.
A cozy breakfast for wintery mornings is captured with this warm and hearty chai-spiced porridge adorned with slices of persimmon, chunks of banana, pan toasted sunflower seeds and goji berries. The fur throw backdrop adds a touch of elegance, texture, and accentuates that warm and fuzzy feeling.
I wanted to capture the motion of falling snow by sprinkling fine coconut shreds onto this plateful of chocolaty ginger garam masala balls infused with rum. It is wonderful to introduce this holiday spirit on my table.
A melt in your mouth braised chicken pieces dish gets its glamour from the winter citrusy ruby red grape fruit cream glaze and caramelized fennel. The beautiful colors and the rich flavors yields a simple sophistication that calls for many returns to the dining table.
This is a moody still life of bread wreath with a beautiful touch of the satin ribbon bow. The light reflecting off and the folds in the ribbon introduce a sense of movement to this otherwise static shot. The dusting of flour encircling the wreath adds a wintry snowy and dreamy vibe to the image.
The scrumptious olive oil orange bundt cake takes the center stage in this image. The twinkling of the eucalyptus leaves in the back ground and the champaign glasses nearby complete the scene with a festive holiday vibe.<br />
Nothing beats a loaf of heart warming home made bread on the table. The rustic Italian Semolina bread with its light texture and golden palette.

Ingredients for one of my favorite quick meals - mussels dijonnaise. Mussels, garlic, thyme, bay leaf, shallots & parsley. Dijon mustard and sauvignon blanc bring out the flavor.
This was my breakfast - blueberry pancakes. All of my photographs are of meals and desserts that I've cooked or baked myself that slowly get cold while I monkey around with presentation, exposure and composition. Sometimes hunger takes over and depletes whatever patience or artistic inspiration I may have had up until that point and that's what happened with these flapjacks. I hadn't eaten since lunch the previous day so I destroyed these pancakes. I don't even remember using a fork.
This was my dinner and was taken at my home near a window on a foggy afternoon. It was lamb and beef meatballs braised in marinara sauce.
I took this in the process of dipping pecan & cranberry biscotti into melted chocolates. I included the recipe for anyone interested.
The finished product - biscotti with pecans and dried cranberries garnished with melted chocolates and ground pecans. I enjoyed them dipped in coffee followed by a nice nap.
Fruit galette w/nectarines, blueberries, raspberries and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I was too lazy to make a pie so I made this galette instead. I'm not sure why galettes aren't more common since they're so easy to make & delicious.
Me playing around with a kitchen torch for a shrimp bisque with roasted red bell peppers. It added a smoky flavor to everything and I loved it.

This is a biscotti with other flavours than the common Italian biscotti. This biscotti is for the one who choose the more healthy path for the moment or as a lifestyle with no gluten and with slower carbs and who still want to have the great yummie taste of a cake. This biscotti is loaded with roasted almond flour and peanuts and coated with lovely dark chocolate and more peanuts, so actually it is not only for the healthy life, it is as well for every one who love a good bit of a cake.
Ì Think it always is a good feeling to cook for my loved ones for Valentines day. This is the starter with butter fried scallops, cauliflower puree, truffle vinegar, pea and basil puree and Russian salmon roe for the three-course dinner. The result was satisfying for both eyes and the taste buds
Instead of the mosty common croquette, potato croquette, I made panko fried rice croquettes with taste of fresh ginger and shallots
Like the cartoon character Popeye I do really like spinach soup. It is a healty and well tasting soup that goes well with eggs. Perhaps it is a wonder soup that makes you strong as a super person like Popeye when hi is eating it or maybe it is only in the cartoon world
Sometimes you just need an Egg Nog and this was one of those days. This creamy egg nog is served ice cold and with the Swedish liqueur Punsch, that is sweet and has a taste of arrak and it´s really really yummie. And on the top floats a lot of poppy seeds for a little crunchy effect

The Moscow Mule is a very common drink around my home. I love the look of the copper mug and on a slow day I decided to photograph one just to do it. Most of my photography is for restaurants, so it is always fun just to do something on my own. I created this image by a window in my home using only window light.

Whenever I have some down time, I like to create a still life image. I bought this old peach crate on eBay to have for use as a background element, with no immediate use in mind. I photographed this shot in my kitchen dining area using only window light. I made the window frame and propped up some old barn wood for the background and foreground. The window scene was photographed on a recent trip to Ravello, Italy.
I saw a bag of shelled mixed nuts in the grocery store and thought how beautiful they were and would make a nice picture. I put together this set in my home and used a hot light directed through a cucoloris to break up the light. I sent it out as a holiday card.
Two of my favorite things in the world are pistachios and Jack Daniels. My wife gave me this cool pistachio dish for Christmas and thought it deserved to be photographed.

Boiled Clam with Sake and Butter, is one of my fav home-made seafood dish. Simple, fast and fresh. No water or broth is required, and all steam comes from the internal of clams, so more specifically speaking, this way is seawater steamed.
Beef cheeks braised with freshly tomato and basil sauce with mashed potato sliders. I can't really complaint anything about the texture of beef cheeks, tender but not fat, and more importantly its price is only 60-70% of briskets, hard to find in Toronto though.
The best to feel the dough is to knead by your own. Green onion and dried pulled pork toast with scrambled duck eggs there are the perfect combination for breakfast.
Let's make wings as all-season dish. Dual-flavor (Korean BBQ /Cumin Salt and Pepper) seasoned for overnight, and baked in Tajine Pot. Can't really stop it while we have the freshly-made coleslaw on side.
Nutella Sharing Bread Roll in Xmas Tree Shape, as a perfect dessert for Christmas dinner, can also be a fun to prepare with kids.<br /> <br /> Made and Photoshoot by myself
New soup base, Sichuan Spicy Tallow, from Morals Village HotPot (德莊火鍋）photographed for its new flyer. Tallow was fried with tens of secret species and frozen as brick. The extreme flavor of spiciness comes along with its melting into the hot soup.
2017 is the year of rooster (雞年) in Chinese Zodiac, so there must be a dish of chicken in new year gathering. I created this dish by deboing and marinating the wing, and stuffing them with king mushroom and asparagus, which implies the symbol of good luck and rising steadily. (吉祥如意，節節上升）
Meigancai 梅乾菜, an iconic preserved vegetable in Zhejiang area, China, is one of the best mates of pork belly. It gives a special taste to pork belly while stewing. <br /> <br /> All the fat and flavors are wrapped by the hand-made bun.
A perfect Sunday starts with a quinoa and baby kale salad topped with pan-fried wild salmon. The breakfast ends with full of energy and healthiness.

These are my lemon and raspberry tarts, which I have baked for a very special homemade wedding and baptism that I catered. The couple was very sweet and chose a rustic look for their unique day, which was complemented with beautiful golden details.
This is my signature cake. It is called "Tomás", after the little boy (not so little now) that told me to add the raspberries in each layer. It was the final touch to my chocolate cake and it is my clients' favorite for some time now.

This cake, cakepops and macarons were made for a little girl's birthday: Joana, a swimmer. Her mother wanted to surprise her with a cake inspired in the sea, so I have made this blue cake with white pearls. I am still in love with it!
This cake was made for a sweet little girl named Sofia, who celebrated her first birthday last February. I loved the final buttercream colour and look, it is fresh and makes me think of Spring...
These cupcakes were made to Cidália, who celebrated her birthday recently and were a present from her daughter, Márcia. It was my absolute pleasure to make them and be part of their special dinner. They were Greek yogurt cupcakes, with raspberry coulis and vanilla buttercream: yum!
I have made these butter cookies for Easter. They were decorated with royal icing, using light Spring tones. I love the props used in this photo and I believe they complement my cookies perfectly.
This is a Minnie inspired cake for a little girl named Francisca, who just turned 3. The birthday table was complemented with cupcakes and pink macarons and she loved it!

Oatmeal with pomegranate, nuts and honey. It's such a joy for me to shoot fresh ingridients at natural light! To add more texture to the picture I chose an old wood board and a crumpled paper.
Hummm!!! This is one of my favorite dishes in my restaurant! Asian tuna tartare; with avocado, ginger, wasabi, sesame seeds, red onion and caviar in top! The flavors are so well balanced, it's hard to stop eating. <br /> Restaurant: La Contessa -Carpaccio House<br />
Edamame and gyozas snack :) natural daylight with light color materials for styling and a darker base for contrast. In another photo, at another angle, I could capture better the gyozas but the edamame wasn't the main point anymore. Apple scramble with passion fruit foam.... the most delishious touch by STHLM- MRKT at Cascais. Amazing menu and happy staff. I made the photoshoot during daylight right in front of the restaurant. There was an amazing light; it was close to sunset hour, between 5 or 6 o'clock.
This is my favorite shot of all times! Looks so simple, but, it means so much to me! This was one day that we went to a local market place in Spain and my son showed me his favorite fruit! I was only starting on food photography and was testing my new camera...this accomplishment goes for my kids; they make me realize that the most special aspects of life, are at the details, the simple things.

A talented cook created his own oil, vinegar, salt and spice series and we had the honor to photograph his new product lines. These products are based on the five elements wood, fire, soil, metal and water. He created wonderful arrangements and presented the ingredients of the particular product. Taking photos for a cook is always special as super delicious things are created. The new product line of this cook is called Cook Element and it's based on the five elements wood, fire, soil, metal and water.
We had the great opportunity to photograph these delicacies and we could taste them right afterwards. These photos were taken to be used on the cook's website and to promote their new product line consisting of oils, vinegars, salt and spices.
These canapés are consisting of pancakes and salmon and were served at cocktail hour on a wedding day at The Dolder Grand hotel in Zurich, Switzerland.
This beautiful tree of strawberry cupcakes was the dessert at a Swiss wedding. During cocktail hour they served various delicate canapés and the perfect sweet finale were these light and dark cupcakes with strawberry topping.
To be honest, I don't know exactly what these beauties are. They were served at The Haute - at the roof top of the tallest building in Zurich. An international wedding was hosted there and they created several delightful appetizers the guests could choose from.
Vegetable lasagna created by a really talented Austrian cook. To present his products as well as the great dishes you can create and flavor with Cook Element we photographed some really beautiful and tasty delicacies.
Aperol Spritz and Hugo - these are our most favorite drinks in summer. Really refreshing and with a great flavor. For the Aperol Spritz a fresh slice of Orange is a must-have as well as a slice of Lime and fresh peppermint for a Hugo. You should definitely give these drinks a try!

Tomatoes, rosemary, and a hand torch. An impromptu photo for the client. The dark roasting pan provided great color contrast against the tomatoes and rosemary. Sometimes simple ingredients and a strong concept are better than an overstyled photo.
A yolk stuffed ravioli. This was photographed during a media dinner in Los Angeles for The Guild L.A. I used on-camera flash bounced off the ceiling for this impromptu photo. Canon 6D; Sigma 50mm Art at f/2.8.
A photo of ingredients in Gino Angelina's (Osteria Angelini) new line of pasta sauces. The client wanted a photo that included ingredients found in the sauce itself. This was lit with afternoon window light, and shot with a Canon 6D and 50mm Sigma Art lens.
This is the charcuterie board at Tower12 in Hermosa Beach. This was part of their PR campaign when the restaurant opened in 2017. Lit with window light and a reflector.
This photo was for a PR/marketing campaign for Le Petit Paris located in Los Angeles. The client wanted to show as much shellfish as possible, and I felt this angle made the photo more dynamic. Lit with a 36" softbox.
This was shot during a media lunch at So Long, Hi (@so.long.hi) in Los Angeles. The restaurant was kicking off their all-you-can-eat weekend lunches. An overhead shot seemed to be the most democratic way of showing an abundant spread and the AYCE approach to dining. Lit with natural light.
Sweet sriracha chicken wings shot for The Counter's multiple locations. I chose a strong backlight to emphsize the sriracha glaze, since I felt it was the most important element. The green onion garnish and sesame seeds provided the perfect color contrast. I eat a lot of these wings.

I made this mini cakes for Mother's Day and they were a total success! Vanilla cake with vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream and one of my spoons from the "Wishes" collection.
Marquise chocolate cake with dulce de leche filling and topped with whipped cream. I think the beauty of a macro shot lies within the details it portraits.
Hand painted macarons for a client. The painted flowers are also the flowers featured in some of the clients products like candles tins and mugs.
This is a lemon pie decorated specifically for a wedding. When I took this picture I was trying to capture the contrast of yellow and violet between the lemon curd and the flowers.
I've been meaning to bake these unicorn macarons for a while now and finally got the opportunity to bake them for a birthday party. Needless to say they were a complete success!
I got hold of some new sprinkles from this amazing shop and decided to use them in this Rainbow Cake! I'm all about shooting cakes but this time I wanted the sprinkles to be the main subject of my picture!

A delicious appetizer cheese plate is to serve a board, filled with different delicacies — salami, prosciutto, cheese — and walnuts, grapes, figs and bread. It’s perfect for kicking back with friends (And it takes a second to put together, if people drop by.)
The eggs of the smallest European game bird, the diminutive quail, are about the size of a very large olive, with an attractive brown speckled shell. They have a higher proportion of yolk to white compared to a hen’s egg, and a slightly stronger flavour, but can be treated in much the same way.

This photo was realized in artificial light, with a simple food styling set-up, as per the client's request.<br /> Simplicity was its aim, and ours, of course. Image is colorful, shiny, it has volume and "shows" human presence (the utensils). <br /> For this images we used white props such as curly paper, painted utensils and vintage white plates. <br />
This image was made while dining ant the Michelin star restaurant ASK from Helsinki. There is no food styling, of course, the dish it's precious and styled by the chef. <br /> I have used the ambient light (the restaurant's ceiling lamps). <br /> The dish is delicate and strong in the same time, the ingredients local and fresh. The textures are well delimited: baked apple, licorice, buckwheat flowers and seeds, ice cream.
This image was made while visiting the pop-up restaurant Cube Electrolux in Milan, Italy.<br /> As the food was prepared right in front of us I decided to give credits to the wonderful people preparing it. <br /> These are the hands of the chefs and sous chefs helping the Michelin star chef Andrea Canton making the plating for a deer and radicchio dish.<br /> The ambient light helped me, it was white and soft with no strong shadows.
I used natural light. I prepared this dish and plated after one of my favorite cooks from Romania, Chef Nico Lontras. A nice layer of tonka cream is hidden under "thick" layer of edible earth (made of chocolate). Fresh fruits and crunchy finnish bread were used to decorate and enhance the taste.

During my internship at a ecological raspberry farm I did some food photography for their products. I think this is one of the best photos I made and I'm very proud of it. You see the product, in this photo raspberry blondies (brownies but made with white chocolate) and you see humanity in this photo.<br /> I'm very thankful for winning with this photo!

I made this photograph for my own Instagram account. I used window light for a fresh and bright photograph. For the backround in this setting I used a with tray and the ingredients in the basil pesto.
My passion is food and photografy and almost all of the photographs are made at my own home. This photograph was also made at my own home. I used some old props to build a setting and closed all of the curtains so I didn't have much daylight. To create a dark setting.I love this picture because it almost looks like a painting.

This is my relaxation time with coffee and liqueur. Terva Shamaani is tarliquer from the northernmost distillery in Finland. Good recipe for this is; take few coffee and few little snaps and relax!

Scallops on puréed carrots with prosciutto, asparagus and foam. I had fun plating and styling this dish at Le Cordon Bleu's Food Photography & Styling course. I love using dark props and backdrop as it gives more depth and character to the dish. The styling was influenced by the ancient Celtic design, the Trinity knot.
This was taken as part of my exercise/task in the Food Photography & Styling course in Le Cordon Bleu. I love this photo as it displays a fresh, bright and healthy start for the morning. I wanted to add 'movement' to this still life photo, so I thought a trickle of honey would do the trick.
This is vine tomatoes taken in a dark/moody setting which I've been practicing a lot lately. Since the Food Photography & Styling course I did recently, I'm loving this style of photography more and more.
I just wanted pancakes that day and that was what I made and shoot. I had captured this simple and comforting home cooked food with fresh berries, honey and a dust of icing sugar. I used a white backdrop and background to give a sense of freshness like a blank canvas. All other colour components were focused on the pancakes and plate.
