A montain of Goodies:
I wanted to keep this photo as natural as possible. The only way I could respect the beauty and the authenticity of this gorgeous food from @mammas.goodies made fresh everyday. They look great and taste even better!
Every year in Faenza, a small town not far from Bologna and close to the east cost of Italy, on the 5th of January a glorious festival is traditionally celebrated to kick off the new year.
A giant puppet representing Hannibal, the Saracen guerrier personification of misfortune, is burned at midnight as symbol of good luck.
All the people use to celebrate eating the typical flatbread (Piadina) with local cured meats and cheese and - most importantly - drinking the traditional local mulled wine, Bisò, from the handcratf ceramic cup called Gotto.
This night is known as Night of Bisò (Nott De' Biso').
In my photograph: the Bisò in the traditional Gotto
Calamondin also known as "kalamansi", a Philippine citrus hybrid. A cross between a lemon, a tangerine, and a kumquat. Accompanied with a beautiful avocado rose and cilantro, you can't go wrong with this combo as a side dish to sisig tacos or grilled seasoned shrimp!
I have always loved beautiful artisan bread and bought these at a local market and created this set in my kitchen. I made the window frame and Photoshopped an image I took in Italy into it. I did the photograph for my own portfolio and for sale on my website (www.larryhanna.com)
