A welcoming invite to The Salty Fish Bar. The client asked to capture the essence of the wonderful space they created for their bar in a series of photos. In creating this image, I knew using only strobes would not give off the right mood, so I went with a mix of ambient and available light, supplemented by a single 200W strobe and umbrella.

Something dark with lots of my favorite color combinations to match my very personal style. I've always wondered what color cooked octopus actually is. As one of my favorite animals, I know they can change color while they are alive, but as I was shooting this, I actually got confused several times. In the end, I went with purple when I was developing the photo. It just suits it so much! There was a lot of work to show the details and bring out the textures in the other ingredients and supporting elements as well. I hope you all appreciate this shot as much as I do.
