Forty-Sixth Collection

This photo was taken for the Bar section of the newly opened Cuban-Asian Fusion Restaurant very appropriately called Kuba Restaurant. I used two lights set and a reflector, ultimately retouched it using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom.

I love the look of these vintage sundae glasses and frequently choose them to style desserts. Blackberries were just magnificent while in season and added a perfect accent to the Yogurt and Granola Parfaits.

Using more bold colors in my recent photography work has been such an exciting avenue to explore. Colors connect to our emotions and mood and can totally change the way a dish feels and even tastes. For this shot, I decided to shoot one of my favorite recipes, Socca, on this beautiful green background. I wanted to showcase the freshness of the herbs and vibrancy of the cherry tomatoes against a surface that makes you feel like you are in a French villa in the countryside.

This image was a happy accident. I shot a whole set of this Chia Pudding Topped with Fresh Berries using diffused natural light in my home studio. As I was taking down my set and putting away the gear, I was hungry and ready to eat one of these creations. But as soon as I removed the diffuser, I was captivated by the harsh light and the shadows it created. I love the result that came out of that little extra effort.
