Fifty-Third Collection
The client's brief called for a summery, share feel to this shot. It required more spacing than I would usually have placed between objects, as the client asked that the table layout be allowed to 'breathe' a little.
Client was happy, which is all that matters! :-)
This is my favorite picture of all times. It is actually 7 images stacked on top of each other. It was a dish with dry-ice. That made it dificult to shoot but it makes it a lot more interesting.
Photographing ice cream is one of the most challenging situations. It requires you to work fast. Really fast. One of the things that helped me was to prepare the composition in advance (more than working with other subjects). Have lots of ice Cream available for test shoots. And have lots of paper towels to clean the mess.
A shot created for the cover of an Austrian Magazin " GENUSS" - the topic of this issue was about cheese.

I live for tea. And I love everything vintage. I have been collecting teapots for as long as I can remember. I used a cast iron teapot having black and gold carvings for the shot. I created a vintage tea setup, using a boldly spiced tea following my tea theme for the fine art series.
Iced coffee with coffee ice cubes shot for my portfolio. Three image composite; each glass needed its own shot to get the ice placement and cream poured in just right.
A creative dish by chef Nils Henkel, one of the best chefs in Germany, which has been awarded two stars by the Michelin Guide in the Schwarzenstein restaurant.

This chocolate and cocoa took way longer to photograph than it should have. I struggled so much with creating the perfect shadows and texture, without creating too harsh of a light. And, while trying to capture the texture of the cocoa, but not deter from the main subject, the chocolate chunks. It took two days, but I think I found the right balance!
This was shot for clients who initially needed to be convinced about the value of food pro photography. Nonetheless, they gave my Stylist and I their full trust - I was pleasantly surprised when we suggested a low key shoot to stand out against their competitors, who were all using light & bright high key images.
It paid off. Very shortly after their new website launched with new suite of marketing images, their online bookings grew 40-fold and their business is now in the position that they wanted to get to; turning a profit with healthy numbers and ready for sale so they can retire! Feels great, as they were really nice people... :-)
Chocolatey Goodness set in a dark mood - topped with a ton of strawberries. Setup in a contemporary way with golden accents to make a sinful bite.
I was totally rocking the blue on this photo for my first backlit drink photo. I love how the light falls on each part of the glass and the key-shaped bottle opener. Blue Martini, anyone?
These blueberries are plump, luscious, sweet, and delicious! This was my first time using my macro lens at f/2.8, which required some photo stacking to ensure everything stayed in focus. I am honored Foodelia has chosen this one as a winner because it is one I am super proud of.
