Sixty-Fifth Collection
Tuna Tartar. Shot for a restaurant in Sandton with flash.
I love the colour pallet of this shot, soft pinks and golds. the trickiest part of this shot was getting the hard light to look natural. The dish bursts with flavours of ginger.
A cocktail I love, a Moscow Mule! Here, the lighting was key to achieving the visual impact I was aiming for.
I feel like underneath the world of food photography is a small niche or specialization for restaurant photography. When I’m shooting, it is during service, and in a fine dining restaurant, so my footprint as a photographer has to be minimal. For this, I use ICE light made by Wescott which allows me the most minimal photographic footprint possible four sets like this.
Springbok Salad, Springbok is a type of Antelope indigenous to South Africa, extremely lean but full of falvour. Shot with flash
Hummingbird Cake shot for a restaurant in Johannesburg South Africa. This was shot using natural light .
I really love the soft light, however the cake was beautifully decorated.
A raspberry cake, a creation by pastry chef Cyril Huet.
My interpretation :
"This cake is a missed date, it is this time that we no longer take, it's greed and its excesses.
This cake is also sweetness, moments of sharing, family and friends that we miss".
(Natural Light used for this session).
Biscuits and cheese, served floating on a bed of flowers. This was shot for a restaurant in Sandton, Johannesburg, South Africa. Shot with flash I really tried to copy the natural light that would appear in the restaurant during its lunch service. We had to shoot this in studio because of some restrictions.
Cured Chalk Stream Trout, Ponzu Roe, Seaweed, Yogurt, Dill Oil and Purple Radish, dish by Michelin Star chef Michael Wignall, of The Angel at Hetton. The balance of this dish is amazing, and not only developed in the kitchen, but also on an artists pad, well it is a work of art on a plate!!
Coffee Jelly. A popular jelly flavour often served as part of Japanese meal. Commonly made with instant coffee; this time I tried with Indonesian ground coffee for a stronger taste of coffee. It is then drizzled with milk.
Gluten-free mandarin cake
Camera: Fuji X-T3
Lens: Fujinon 16-55 mm
Settings: ISO 200, 42.7 mm, 1/15 s, f/3.6
Shot using artificial light.
Tiramisu is one of my favourite dessert dishes. Although basic ingredients are quite similar throughout, there is much more versatility in tiramisu than you might expect.

A true friend reaches for your hand...
...and puts a glass of gin it.
Thank you #foodelia team for this chance. It's an honor to be here.
Thank you @thepr1mebeachclub restaurant, Monte Gordo, Portugal for location and materials. Thank you for my assistant photographer and bartender @diogopinteus.
Thank you God that I can see the beauty of the world!
Since I started in food photography, it became my dream to photograph something that would challenge my skills set. This is what I've found in photographing octopuses, thanks to their multiple shapes, colors and textures, I have faced, in my opinión, the biggest challenge.
My own Gluten free, lactose free and sugar free Recipe for home made Crepes " the favorite family breakfast" with homemade jam. I put my heart to style this scene, as I want to inspire people with food intolerances to cook at home, from scratch with natural ingredients. Because, follow a Gluten free diet doesn't mean we need to eat boring food with weird textures, we can still enjoy delicious food.
I love minimalism in food. It gives the sensation of simplicity and gives power to the food to be always the star. Less is more!
Sometimes all you need is a small bucket of happiness. A magical taste and texture of blueberry-blackberry ice cream. Ice cream always makes things better.
My very first attempt at light painting. This was done with the torch on my phone, 15sec exposure, and about 400 attempts, trying to get smooth looking circles around the glass.
One of the most interesting challenges for a commercial photographer is to photograph bottles, understanding the different lighting techniques is essential to achieve a good image
Bok Choy, very healthy, very green and even more photogenic. I love the seemingly chaotic way its leaves are arranged which gives the image a very mystical look.
I've been wanting to shoot with this fantastic Teku beer glass for some time. These are great for drinking beer from, but when it came to capturing it, it seemed too elegant for a boozy beer shot! And I saw it would project a gorgeous shape on the wall.
This image was inspired by my latest backdrop creation. This backdrop pops out the rice chocolate colour beautifully. Cannot stress enough how important a good backdrop is.
4 delicious variations of the Neapolitan pizza. The pizza has a great crispy batter, the edge has risen perfectly and is full of air pockets. A few toasted spots are part of it! The mozzarella is nicely melted and combines with the tomato sauce.
I thought it would be fun to shoot Absolut Mistletoe in a different style with a GOBO effect. To give it a clean and classy look, I decided to go for an all white background.
They are Irish Premier Oysters. High meat ratio and its sweet taste, crispy with a long aftertaste, typical from Irish oysters.
We prepare these with yuzu and lime juice, herbs and flowers. Dish by Chef @rybusolsztyn / photo session in @kwasnejablko
Canon 6D mark II ; CANON 100 Macro ; ISO 100 ; f 8.0 ; 1/160sec ; 2 two speedlights
Is it a dessert, is it a soup... well it's both ...
I loved the simplicity of this scenery. The spoon in combination with the dessert... I didn't want to add anything else. Sometimes less is more.
Turkish Delight is a sweet memory. It fills all the senses. If you haven't tried it yet, it definitely should be on the list. Perfect to pair with a strong coffee.
The photo is a one-shot with a single flash as a light source and a bounce card. I've used a handful of tooth sticks and a clip holder to support the "flying" pieces. Edited in Photoshop for colour corrections and to remove the supporting elements.
This photograph was born by chance, while I was washing fruit. So, I started photographing other subjects in the water, creating a series called: "Immersion".
Colors are a very powerful resource in the narrative of a photograph ... they reinforce in a special way the aesthetics of the product ... they give that visual impact that we seek so much in advertising photography ...
