Sixty-Fifth Collection
Picture from restaurant Willem Hiele in Koksijde (Belgium). Light sponge with wild strawberries and rhubarb consommé. Shot with the fujifilm GFX50S and the GF120mm
For this image I wanted to do something fun with macarons, strings and having it appear as if they were "levitating". So after a few tries of different type of macarons and string colours, compositions, and post-production work; this was the final result.
Delicate, fragrant lavender and gooseberry macarons. I have around one thousand edible lavender plants in the grounds of my home which I cut by hand and hang to dry naturally in an open drying store. The macarons taste heavenly and have been added to the pastry chef’s seasonal menu.
All the vitamins and minerals of green veggies, leaves and fruits compressed into a healthy and revitalizing drink. The splash indicates its freshness.
This photo was an experiment. I wanted to achieve a fully brown picture to enhance the richness of coffee. Natural light was my friend in this case.
I kept the depth of field pretty wide to capture all the textures.

My favorite thing is to tell a visual story with my captures. I love to experiment with different light setups, props in complementary or analogous colors that add a layer to the story I want to create. For this picture my light source was on the left side and also a little behind these beautiful crepes which highlighted perfectly the powdered sugar dusting and created a magical light and mood. This is a traditional Austrian sweet dish which we often enjoy at home.
It was a pleasure to shoot these beautifully shaped kibins in a collaboration with a client. Kibins are traditional pastries, popular with Karaite ethnic minority in Lithuania. They can be filled with different salty fillings of which the most traditional is lamb. I framed them in a wooden tray to show off their beautiful form even more.
Mackerel, Dill and Cucumber, a dish photographed for Adam Handling Chelsea, based in the beautiful Belmond Cadogan Hotel on Sloane Street London. The greens and the textures of the dish on a predominantly white background creates a beautiful frame.
Iced Apple Honey Tea. It has been quite sometime since I made iced apple tea. So I made one; infused with Fuji and Orin apples and sweetened with honey dripped from the honeycomb.

Blueberry ice cream. I had a vision of a cone of ice cream standing still in my photo for some time, the question was how to make it happen. And with ice cream it is always a matter of seconds before it starts melting and falling apart. But I guess the challenges are the reason why I love photography so much. It is about the moment when the idea, the construction and the postproduction meet and you get the result that is simply magical.
A shot requested by my client, who is a mad fan of light painting. This was "painted" using a makeshift lightsaber, a yellow acrylic rod attached to a torch.
Working with food, besides being delicious, can also be a lot of fun work, so I try to have the best fun I can when I prepare my dishes!!
“The Rosted Chicken” from the cooking academy ''La mesa del chef'' in Panama.
A dark food lighting scheme to increase the textures and drama in the image.
The pouring of an Espresso Martini. This was made for a client that sells "Cocktails in a Kit" that was created to be delivered to people's homes during the pandemic.
These appetizers with avocado, cottage cheese, nuts, seeds and a variety of sprouts are all about textures, freshness and upcoming spring. It's an example how a simple yet good combination of fresh ingredients can create a mouthwatering experience.
Carrot-ginger soup. There is nothing more comforting and soothing than the warmth and silky creamy texture of this soup. It's almost like a warm blanket just exactly when you need one.
Commercial photography for the new launch of Cervecería Maestra brand '' Diabla '', a blonde ale craft beer with a raspberry perfume.
A "smoky" image of Negroni cocktails, made for a client that sells "Cocktails in a Kit" that was created to be delivered to people's homes during the pandemic. Because of social-distancing, this was created entirely by myself; including making and styling the cocktails itself, as well as burning the rosemary and trying to capture the "perfect" string of smoke from it.
Commercial photoshoot for "Pure Energy". The crystal clear energy drink. Clear, vegan and natural beet sugar. An incredible splash of freshness and action in the same shot.
