Sugaring the Poffertjes. This little snack is a favorite in the family. Originated and popular in the Netherlands, it is also popular in Indonesia as a former Dutch colony.
The poffertjes are plated in several small plates in various sizes and styled in a moody dark scene.
@social_tap engaged me to capture @localenoosa 's new cocktail & food menu. The Italian restaurant is beautifully dark & moody with stunning backdrops to set off food & drinks. This style of strobe photography is what I love to experiment with, whilst not losing the integrity of the mood of the restaurant.
Cheese is not just cheese, and when Swiss chef Annina from @edelweissfineswissfood brought these splendid looking and smelling Swiss cheeses in to be photographed along with freshly baked sour bread, yes Swiss style too, we had a ball.

Chocolate brownie cake. The addition of salty caramel perfectly balances the sweet taste of brownie. Created with good quality dark chocolate. Simply delicious.
This was a personal project using my own kitchen as a studio and minimal kit, just a backdrop and some black boards. I wanted to create a nice soft light so used a big modifier and a reflector. Madeleines with pistachio nut and orange blossom, served with a light dusting of icing sugar.
An assortment of doughnuts with ice-coated glaze has a delicious doughnut texture and are ultra-moist, coated in sprinkles, shot in natural light.
Hard light and figs - a beautiful combination. I particularly love the way the light through the crystal glass creates a gorgeous pattern play on the pink surface.
