Seventieth Collection
Beautiful and elegant serving with scallop at famous danish hotel Ruths Hotel in Skagen in the north of Denmark, by headchef Jack Cramer.
Tempeh or soy bean cake. A very popular vegan protein source in Indonesia. Soy beans cultured and fermented with fungus rhizopus oligosporus which later helps in making the beans into cake form. Traditionally, tempeh is sold wrapped with banana leaf which also imparts its leafy aroma.
Here several chunks of the tempeh are styled with shallots and salam bay leaves, among props of traditional kitchen utensils. A wooden window shutter is placed in front of the tempeh; making an impression of peeking into the kitchen.
Although there is a lot going on in this photo, it still has a sense of quietness in it. It's the lightning, the balance in colours and accessories. Love to incorporate drinks in my food photography work!

Mid Autumn Festival is just a month away. This mooncake is special as it contains the best type of durian which is Musang King flesh. Durian mooncakes are pretty popular among the Asian regions now.
Have a drink on me.

Beautiful textures of fresh honey and the honeycomb. The liquid gold of nature. I wanted to capture it in a luxurious way to reflect its beauty and grace.
White plate with Vegan Asparagus Mushroom Pasta with Vegan Parmesan Cheese accompanied by a glass of Chardonnay and wine bottle in a bright and airy style with white background and green and white flowers in a marble vase.
Social media photoshooting for @lusini_de / www.lusini.de for their beautiful plate "Pike".

Scotch on the rocks. I was playing with light and smoke here. Since it was a little too early in the day to actually drink it, it wasn’t wasted but used to deglaze a pan while making a delicious cassoulet de canard.
Imagine yourself tucking into a hearty and scrumptious English breakfast in the garden on a sunny day was the narrative in this scene.

Join me for this summer crĂŞpes party.
A flatlay with homemade crĂŞpes, styled with berries, sugar and almonds.
I wanted to achieve something soft, airy and colorful, without ignoring the beautiful light-brown of those delicate layers. Sugar or jam for you?
Some antique French wine glasses with some dynamic visual effects, splash and shadows .As an invitation to a celebration for a social gathering.
A very inviting and refreshing scene, where intense colors predominate and everything is frozen in midair... Using HSS to freeze the spray and the water drops.
Cheers!!!
A dinner scene photographed with the focus emphasised on the wine. This was all executed by myself, starting from the scene styling, to cooking and styling the dishes, to the actual photography and editing. This also included the "talent" used in the scene, to emphasised a feel of multiple people at the dining table. Hence I have named this image "Dining with Myself".
Decadent dark chocolate shells filled with a milk chocolate espresso ganache created by artisan chocolatiers, Co Co Company. Chocolate perfection!
This was a spec shoot for LifeAid, throwing cans into a shallow black tub with water. Their marketing was mostly bright and white and I wanted to see about providing a different look that was still desireable and refreshing.
I am in love with macro food textures, and black colour in food is something that you can find very rarely. This is why I preserved the moment of these beautiful blackberries in silky light.
A rich and creamy coffee cheesecake topped with whipped cream and caramel for the sibling's birthday. This was shot at around 10 or 11pm with a flash and a big softbox. It was the second time I had really used the softbox.
Cold coffee, lots of whipped cream and some chocolate - who wouldn’t want to have a drink like this on a hot day? A reminder of a hot summer we had month ago. I’m missing it already.
Bees play such an important part in our ecosystem and I love going to visit the local hives. The bees achieve so much working together and are an example of what we too as humans could achieve when working as a team. Here the HumBugs look quite a home in the scene with the striped bodies buzzing around the honeypot. The wings were made by reshaping paperclips and the 'bees' were held in place with wire that was later edited out.
My photographic journey started 4 years ago as an anorexic sufferer and changed my fear of food into inspiration. Now I embrace the art of food and enjoy creating scenes that the viewer can enjoy.
And now, to celebrate being part of the collection, I am off to fetch the humbugs and will enjoy a few while appreciating the great work that busy bees do each day.
Not sure what started my love for Negronis, but I think I had a predestined attraction.
You see, Campari has been a liquor that has been a staple of my family’s household since I can remember. My mom was a woman of very specific likes and dislikes, and Campari on the rocks was her drink.
I have this memory of my dad asking her what she would like to drink and she would always reply “Just a little Campari on ice” (if you have a Mexican friend, you know everything is referred as "little” in a term of endearment: tamalito, sopita, vasito…)
The deep red color was always mesmerizing, but when I was of drinking age and tried it for the first time I could not understand why she would drink that!
I guess it’s true that with age comes wisdom, because now I absolutely love it. I’m still not as hardcore as my mom to drink it just on the rocks, but in good company of Gin and Vermouth to make what many have called the “perfect cocktail”: The Negroni.
About the image
I had been thinking about playing with light painting for a while and how it would look integrated with some food element, I decided to use the Campari bottle because I imagined the glass would give great reflections and highlights in color, and because red is my favorite color.
When designing this image, I needed to feature storytelling and contrast. The hands represent sharing and socialising, the drink adds context and pops of colour come from the linen and basil. There's also a very subtle dappled light effect for added interest.
A healthier breakfast smoothie made with vanilla cinnamon coffee that will make it a lot easier to get out of bed in the morning!
Playing with the afternoon sunlight and hard lighting and using contrast of the green beans against the brown texture and liquids of the dish to bring it to life. Fried Enoki mushrooms, with mushroom broth, Edamame beans and noodles.
I’m a huge lover of levitation photography and I always love to experiment with it.
This was a fun test for one of the projects that I’m working on. I’m also in love with this lush green. It looks so appetising, doesn’t it?
The idea is to create the traditional food to have an artsy and fresh look.
So with my signature color block and hard light, we transformed it.
